Google My Business – What Is It and How Can It Help Me?

You’ve seen it a thousands times on a Google search. Next time you search for a restaurant or a local business, (especially on mobile), you’ll notice a small map with a few pins put on the spot of the business address – This is Google My Business.

Lets face it, all businesses today need targeted visibility on Google. Smart business owners know this requires optimizing their website, hiring a reputable SEO agency, maybe running some Google Ads, etc. What most people don’t know is that there’s a third entity that also needs optimizing: their Google My Business listing! The objective of any business in creating GMB listings is to “get into the local pack.” The local pack is what’s referred to as the top three business listings. Google will always display the top 3 business listings for any location-based search. You can see in the example below that although Arizona Addiction Recovery Center is at the top of the search result, there’s still two underneath it.

There will always be 3. If you are in that top three, that means you will be displayed. Meaning, you are in the local pack. Also meaning your going to get that lead or phone call over all your competitors, and grow your revenue!
